Ring-billed Gulls breed around the Great Lakes, central Canada, and the northwestern US. They winter around the Great Lakes, both coasts of the US, and inland areas of the southeastern US. This immature was photographed along the boardwalk at Jones Beach in Long Island, New York. Photo taken with a 300mm f4.5 Nikkor ED lens on Kodachrome 64 film. (Date: January 1980)
